Beyond Translation: Moving Between/Across/Through Languages as Part of a Research Practice
2023
Russian-English dictionaries, Mandarin Chines- English dictionaries, paper, ink

The language we write in is often reflective of the language we think in. What happens when we are forced to confront the limitations of a single language within our research? Can the language we write in reflect the languages we experience?

A shelf is a surface for storage.

Translation is defined as the process of moving something from one place to another.

By intermingling these two concepts, we are exploring research translation as a surface for processing information. We are interested in how the arts can be a space for critical dialogue, thus this representation highlights the complexity in merging concepts, language, and context.
